The Problem
A strong password alone isn't enough. Without two-factor authentication, a compromised password gives attackers full access to your encrypted vault.
The Solution
AcroVault supports Email OTP and Authenticator App 2FA. This guide explains both methods and covers additional security features.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security. Even if someone gets your password, they cannot log in without the 6-digit code.
Email OTP Setup
- Go to Settings โ Two-Factor Authentication
- Click Enable under Email Verification Code
- Each login will send a 6-digit code to your email
Authenticator App Setup
- Go to Settings โ Two-Factor Authentication
- Click Setup under Authenticator App
- Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Authy, or any TOTP app
- Enter the 6-digit code to verify
Additional Security
- Recovery Email: Add a backup email in Settings for account recovery
- Strong Master Password: Use 12+ characters with mixed case, numbers, and symbols
- Session Management: Max 5 concurrent sessions oldest is kicked
- Audit Logs: Review login history for suspicious activity
๐ก Tip: We strongly recommend enabling both 2FA and adding a Recovery Email.
