Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AcroVault ("the Service"), operated by Acrolyze ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of any updates.

2. Description of Service

AcroVault is a zero-knowledge encrypted digital vault for storing passwords, documents, financial records, personal identification, and other sensitive data. All vault data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption on your device before transmission. We operate a zero-knowledge architecture - we cannot access, view, or decrypt your plaintext vault data under any circumstances.

3. Account Registration & Security

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
• You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
• You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account
• One individual or legal entity may maintain only one free account
• You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized account use
• We strongly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication and adding a Recovery Email

4. Subscription Plans, Payments & Refunds

• All paid plans auto-renew annually unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Refund Policy: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on annual plan purchases. Storage add-ons and extra family member slots are non-refundable but can be cancelled for future periods
• We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days advance notice. Price changes take effect at your next billing cycle
• Payments are processed securely via PayPal. We do not store your credit card or banking details

5. Cancellation & Downgrade

• Cancel anytime from Settings → Plan & Subscription
• Premium features remain active until the current billing period ends
• After expiry, your account reverts to the Free plan. Premium modules become locked but your data is preserved - nothing is deleted
• You may export all data (including premium module data) anytime from Settings
• Reactivate your subscription anytime to restore full access

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable laws
• Upload, store, or transmit content that infringes intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) without written permission
• Upload malware, viruses, ransomware, or malicious code
• Resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially exploit the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure

7. Intellectual Property

Your Data: All content you store in AcroVault remains your exclusive property. We claim no ownership, license, or rights over your vault data - encrypted or otherwise.

Our Platform: The AcroVault platform, including its source code, design, user interface, logos, trademarks, and documentation, is the exclusive intellectual property of Acrolyze, protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

8. Data Security & Encryption

• All vault data is encrypted with AES-256 before leaving your device
• We use zero-knowledge architecture - we cannot decrypt your data
• OTP codes are cryptographically hashed, never stored in plaintext
• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Encrypted backups are stored in isolated, secure environments
• If you lose your password, we cannot recover your encrypted vault data. Use the password reset flow to regain account access

9. Account Termination

• By You: Delete your account from Settings. A 30-day grace period allows recovery. After 30 days, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted
• By Us: We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations with notice where reasonably possible. We reserve the right to terminate inactive free accounts after 12 months of inactivity with 30 days email notice

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not responsible for data loss caused by factors beyond our reasonable control

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Acrolyze is registered. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration before resorting to litigation. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.
