Every family shares accounts. Netflix, Amazon Prime, utility bills, insurance policies the list goes on. But most families share passwords insecurely: text messages, sticky notes, or the infamous "shared spreadsheet."
There's a better way.
The Problem with How Families Share Passwords
- Text messages are not encrypted. Anyone with access to a phone can see shared passwords.
- Sticky notes are visible to visitors. A house guest or repair person can snap a photo.
- Shared spreadsheets have no access control. Everyone sees everything even private accounts.
- No audit trail. You never know who changed what or when.
The Solution: AcroVault Family Sharing
AcroVault by Acrolyze includes family sharing with granular permissions:
How It Works
- Invite Family Members: Send an invitation from the Family Controls panel. They receive a unique code to join.
- Set Module Permissions: For each module (Passwords, Documents, Bank Accounts), choose None, View, or Edit.
- Share Individual Items: Toggle "Family Sharing" on any item you want to share. Items without this toggle remain completely private.
- Bidirectional Sharing: Family members can also share their items with the group.
What to Share (and What Not to Share)
โ Good to share:
- Streaming services (Netflix, Spotify, Disney+)
- Shared utility accounts (electricity, internet)
- Family insurance policies
- Emergency contacts
- Household documents
โ Keep private:
- Personal email passwords
- Individual bank accounts
- Private notes and journals
- Work-related credentials
Security That Grows With Your Family
The Family plan ($49/year) includes up to 2 members with full sharing controls. Extra member slots are available at $15/year each. All shared data remains AES-256 encrypted with zero-knowledge architecture.
